Over 120 million Americans have lost a tooth
Not every tooth can last a lifetime. Tooth loss can unfortunately be necessary. This is often because of tooth decay, infection, gum disease, or injury. Other teeth are removed because of poor positioning or inadequate space in your mouth. Our surgeons are experts in removing teeth safely and efficiently while maintaining your comfort.
Loss of a tooth can decrease your ability to chew and feel confident in your smile. Our surgeons can discuss with you any alternative treatments and what options are available to replace the lost tooth.
What are the steps in treatment?
Consultation
At your initial appointment you should expect to discuss your medical history, any medications you take, and undergo a brief health review. Our providers will also perform a physical exam and obtain any necessary x-rays. We will discuss our recommended treatment and any alternative therapies.
Surgery
Surgery takes place in a private surgical suite at one of our four locations. All surgery is performed under appropriate anesthesia to maximize your comfort. This may be with local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, or intravenous sedation. Please see our anesthesia options.
Recovery
Most patients will need a few days off work to recover. You will need to eat softer foods and avoid strenuous activities. It is very important to keep your mouth clean to avoid infection. Learn more about our aftercare instructions.
